Polygon RPC URL – Official & Public Endpoints
The Polygon RPC URL is the HTTP(S) endpoint your wallet or dApp uses to communicate with the Polygon blockchain. Without a valid RPC URL, you cannot query balances, read blocks, or send transactions on your Polygon network address.
Official Public RPC Endpoints
| RPC URL | Provider |
|---|---|
| https://polygon-rpc.com | Polygon Official |
| https://polygon.llamarpc.com | LlamaNodes |
| https://polygon.drpc.org | dRPC |
| https://1rpc.io/matic | 1RPC |
| https://polygon-mainnet.infura.io | Infura |
Chain ID for Polygon
The official Chain ID for Polygon Mainnet is 137. This number uniquely identifies the Polygon network and prevents transaction replay attacks across different chains. When adding Polygon to any wallet, always verify the Chain ID is 137.
Public vs Private RPC
Public RPC endpoints are free and suitable for low-traffic use. For high-volume dApps or scripts sending hundreds of requests per second, consider a dedicated provider such as Infura, Alchemy, or GetBlock. These services offer guaranteed performance, higher rate limits, and enterprise-grade monitoring for your Polygon network address operations.
Testnet RPC (Amoy)
The official Polygon PoS testnet is Amoy (the old Mumbai testnet was deprecated in 2024). Testnet Chain ID is 80002 and RPC URL is https://rpc-amoy.polygon.technology. Test tokens have no real-world value.
